Privacy policy

Your notes are plain files on your own disk.

BobNote is built so that there is nothing about you for us to collect. This page describes exactly what happens — including the few places where a request has to reach someone else's computer, because saying otherwise would not be true.

Effective August 28, 2026

Your notes

BobNote stores your work as ordinary files in a folder you choose on your own computer. The app does not upload your note contents anywhere. We operate no account system, no sync service and no note storage — there is no server of ours for your notes to be on.

If you put your BobFolder in a location managed by iCloud Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive or backup software, that service moves your files according to its own terms, not ours. The choice, and the control, stay with you.

The app

BobNote sends us no usage analytics, no telemetry and no crash reports. It contains no advertising and no third-party tracking code.

It does communicate with Apple. When you subscribe, restore a purchase, or when the app checks that your subscription is still valid, that exchange happens through Apple's App Store services and is governed by Apple's privacy policy. We receive from Apple only the anonymous, aggregated sales and subscription reports every developer gets — never your identity and never your payment details.

This website

This site loads no resources from other origins: no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, no external fonts or scripts. It sets no advertising or analytics cookies.

The site is served by GitHub Pages, which delivers it over Fastly's content delivery network. As a matter of technical necessity they process each request — including your IP address, the page requested and your browser's user-agent — in order to deliver the page and to protect the site from attack, and either may set a strictly necessary security cookie if it challenges traffic it considers suspicious. We do not receive, store or analyse any of this.

If you email us

Writing to support@bobnote.app means we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. We use it only to answer you. We keep support correspondence for 24 months and then delete it.

Your rights

You can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to support@bobnote.app and we will respond within 30 days. In practice the only personal data we are likely to hold is a support email you sent us.

For purchases, refunds and subscription data, Apple is the seller and the right place to ask is Apple.

Children

BobNote is not directed at children. The app collects no personal data from anyone, children included.

Who we are
