Ask us anything.
BobNote is made by a very small team, which has one real advantage: when you write in,
a person who knows the product reads it and answers.
Frequently asked
The essentials
What is a BobFolder?
A BobFolder is an ordinary folder on your disk that holds one BobNote library: the
boards you build and every file you drop into them, kept together in one place. You
pick where it lives. You can move it, rename it, copy it, or open it on another
machine, the same as any other folder.
Where are my files?
Inside the BobFolder you chose, on your own disk. Nothing is uploaded, because there
is no server to upload to. You can open the folder in Finder and see your material
sitting there.
How do I back up my notes?
Copy the folder. That is the whole procedure — to an external drive, to another
machine, into whatever backup system you already trust. The copy is a real backup,
readable without asking us for anything.
What happens to my notes if I stop subscribing?
They stay exactly where they are, on your disk, in plain files. A subscription gates
the app, never your data. Nothing is locked, held, or encrypted against you.
How do subscriptions, cancellations, and refunds work?
Apple handles all three through the App Store — including the free trial, renewals,
and cancellation, which you manage in your App Store account settings. Refund requests
go to Apple, since Apple is the seller and takes the payment.
Do I need an account or an internet connection?
Neither. There is no account to create, and BobNote works with the network switched
off. A connection is only needed the way any App Store app needs one: to buy the
subscription and to install updates.
Found a bug, or want a feature?
Write to support@bobnote.app. Tell us what you
expected and what happened instead — that is usually enough to reproduce it. Feature
requests are read, and the good ones get built.
